Students use shapes in Microsoft Word 2007 to create floor plans
Overview
In 8th grade computer class students
will expand on the skills and techniques they learned in 6th and 7th grades.
In addition to reviewing how to use text alignment, setting and using tabs, and using fonts and font styles, and they will learn how to use Microsoft Word drawing tools.
Students will learn how to make and use tables in Microsoft Word 2007. Microsoft Excel 2007 will be used to show students how to keep a simple monthly budget, and how to use formulas to determine how much it costs to smoke.
Students will continue to reinforce their knowledge of our current operating system, Microsoft Windows XP, and proper desktop publishing procedures using Microsoft Publisher 2007.
Students will be instructed on online etiquette and being safe while online while using social media.
Grades: Assignments and worksheets are graded on a scale of 0 to 10. Students are required to answer a daily Learning Essential Question. For every 4 LEQs students will receive a grade from 0 to 4 points.
All assignments, worksheets, and LEQ sheets are due by the last day of the marking period.

to Internet programming – Students will learn basic HTML to create their own web
pages using Notepad or a similar text editing program and a web browser.
Students will learn how to add and manipulate text on a webpage, how to add
images and include transparency, how to use color, and how to create and manage
tables.
